We are able to keep costs down by designing around the Eaton M90 3rd generation supercharger that was used in the Ford T-Bird “supercoupe” from 1989 to 1995. The inlet (must) be the oval as in late 1995 Ford went to a rectangular that is (not) “compatible” with this kit.
Q: A.) Will you ship to Canada? (Postal code N6C5E4 B) Do you think there is room beneath the blower inlet to install a custom fabricated water/air aftercooler? I want to install this on a 2008 Ranger 4.0 and use it to pull a single axle enclosed bike trailer. I want something more passive than water /methanol injection to control the boosted air temps. C.) You have obviously been looking at this, is there a condensation issue with the water to air coolers? D.) Do you use a booster fuel pump and an FMU? Thanks Roger Feb-25-08
A.) I have already shipped to Canada, but shipping cost is a little more.
B.) This is the main reason I did the re-design, the water/air cooler is still in the design stages.
C.) If you leave the stock 3.16" supercharger pulley on you will have roughly a rear wheel gain of 60hp. This relates to a boost pressure of 5.5lbs, and a intercooler is not needed. This is what I am still running and now have over 86,000 miles on my setup. The water/air cooler setup will be for those that wish to increase boost pressure above the 6lb mark by reducing the supercharger pulley to a minimum size of 2.8"
D.) I want something more passive than water/methanol injection to control the boosted air temps. You have obviously been looking at this, is there a condensation issue with the water to air coolers?
Q: Will this kit fit on a 2004 Ford Ranger Tremor 4x4 4.0 V6? Let me know - I have a Super Coupe and 2 superchargers for it. I have a Mustang that I'm about to put the whole motor in but I tried to do it with my Mustang motor but I found out you need some other parts. I have one complete Super Coupe motor that's going in my mustang and I have another M90 supercharger that if it will fit on my Ranger I'll get that kit sometime.. let me know thanks. Feb-17-08
A.) The 2004 Ford Ranger 4.0 SOHC is the same engine. Is the EGR on the drivers side? Is Air filter on the passenger side? Is the ignition coil located near the firewall? If the answer is yes to all (3) then there should be no problem. When you get serious it would be a good idea to send me some digital pictures of your engine compartment, to verify prior to purchase. If the supercharger has the (oval) inlet it will be the correct one. The supercoupe engine is a 3.8 v6 if I remember correctly, a completely different engine?
